Premium in Person Application Service at a Public Enquiry Office
In Person Applications will incur a 'Premium Service' fee, whether the application is successful or not, whether the application is decided that day or needs further consideration. In that light, UKBA recommends that those whose application is not considered 'straightforward' or made 'outside the rules' should make a postal application.
Applications eligible for submission at a Public Enquiry Office
- FLR(M), SET(M), FLR(O), SET(O) & SET(F) applications for Spouse, Unmarried Partner, Civil Partner and their dependent children as long as they hold the proper entry clearance
- Tier 1 (General)
- Tier 1 (Post Study Work) - closed as of 6 April 2012
- Tier 2 (Intra company transfer)
- Tier 2 (Minister of religion)
- Tier 2 (Sportsperson)
- Tier 4 (General)
- Tier 4 (Child)
- Tier 5 (Temporary Worker - all categories)
- FLR(O): Visitor extensions, private domestic worker, offshore worker, UK Ancestry, Armed Forces Dependents, Civillian Employee of Armed Forces, Forces Recruitment, postgraduate doctor/dentist, PLAB test and clinical attachment.
- SET(O): private domestic worker, UK Ancestry, Armed Forces following discharge,
Applications at limited locations
- NTL & TOC applications to transfer existing leave to a new passport
- Armed Forces - Croydon ONLY
- EEA Registration Certificates - Croydon ONLY - limited appointment availability
Applications that are not eligible for submission at a Public Enquiry Office
- applicants with discretionary leave to remain or humanitarian protection;
- ILR applications based on 10 or 14 years' long residence;
- HSMP Extensions
- Tier 1 (Entrepreneur), Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent), Tier 1 (Investor), Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur)
- Elderly Dependent Relatives
- Gurkas
- Applications for Travel Documents
- Victims of Domestic Violence
- Asylum
- All others that have complex cases, any person whose sponsor is an employee of UKBA or the Home Office and any application made 'out of time' or 'outside the rules'
